With over 40,000 employees and investors already keeping tabs on Pru News everyday on Prudential's intranet homepage, we had to keep tabs on how a massive user base interacted with the existing portal. We leaned on research from click tracking, page views, time spent on pages and more to really understand what meant most to certain user groups.

With a huge number of filters and tags to choose from in the existing system, we got to work categorising the types of news most people were interested in, based on their user group. We built in new tags for authors to use when publishing their stories, and layered in customisation options from the get-go to let users personalise their newsfeed.
